So if everybody on this forum does what you are trying to do (not with quartz gold veins, with information) do you think this forum would have ever gotten to be what it is?

You Have to mine the ore out and crusk it then you can pan or sluice it. Lot of work but if its a nice vein it will be worth it. I usto have some in nevada in my claim I usto have out there. Let me know how you do Brandt.
