These old threads should not be touched. There may be many referenses that can be rendered meaningless by such activity.
I agree - the "trade values" have now been lost

We now have no idea how much sterling or coin silver or other types silver are required in trade for X number of rounds

We now only know that crystals & cement are excepted for trade

It was not meant directly at this thread alone, here it was not too bad.
People should let the old posts be, as long as there are nothing factual wrong with them, with respect to chemistry and procedures.
Just creating a new post updating the information, would have circumvented the whole issue.

With the current premiums, the numbers were worthless. The trade is based on the assay, and the current market at the time of assay.
Really sucks how much "our" silver is now worthless. Still the same 90% or 92% or 95% of melt, yet even in 1000 oz quantities, just fine shot has a premium of 2 1/2%, let alone something in coin or bar form.

That's nothing against you, just the premiums that exist for any physical silver now.

You were only able to edit it before because of a mistake in setting up this section of the forum. That has been corrected to keep people from editing old posts. It's not that someone is blocking you. It applies to everyone.

I can put them back if you'd like.

Thanks

Trade numbers had to change. The premium over spot for me to replace rounds/bars has gone up with the virus situation.
Fresh mint 1 oz rounds from Golden State Mint. Will trade your 47 grams ASW for each round. The scrap can be almost any form, sterling, junk/damaged 90%, 40%, 35% or foreign coins.
Before you ask, refining costs 10% of the ASW, I supply the silver to the mint and pay the minting fee for each round.Folks have been asking questions, so I will list the trade numbers- for each round
47 grams of .999 silver ( butt ugly rounds,bars,casino cores or damaged coins/bars )
50.8 grams of sterling (.925)
52.5 grams of 90% silver coins ( US or others)
58.8 grams of 80% silver coins ( Canadian and others)
65.3grams of 72% silver coins ( Mexican and others)
94.5 grams of 50% silver coins ( Canadian and others)
117.6 grams of 40% silver coins ( US and others)
134.5 grams of 35% silver coins ( US and others)

The numbers above are for reference only, trade is based on assay value.
