I have has some success with getting gold from items such as pins but I in now way get the amount of gold The ebay guys advertize. What is the real amount I should expect from a pound of mil spec pins? What is the real karat value I should expect using AR on these pins?

Spend some time here and you will find AR to be a poor process for plated pins.

And those here that have experience with mil spec pins can't believe the prices paid for them on eBay either, the yields just don't justify the price.

I haven't run any, but I know yields have been posted here on the forum a few times.

They are very low on the karat scale.

Expect between 1 and 3 grams per pound depending on age, degree of plating, and use.
