I just bought some Muraitic acid from Home depot. The lady asked me what i was going to do with it. I told her i was going to add bleach to it and use it for recovering gold. And she called me crazy. she asked me was i trying to kill myself. i told her no, so she took me to get some gloves and a gas mask. Now, I would like to know, what is everything i should know about mixing hcl and bleach? Because i want to know what i am getting myself into and know everything that will go on. also how far i should keep away from people while doing this. Because i done want no one to get hurt or die. So, what is everything i need to know about mixing them both?

Thats easy........don't!
It just cannot be summed up that quickly.Not only that,but you basically asking someone to spoon feed you everything you need to know.

Mixing Hcl and Sodium Hypochlorite(bleach/chlorine) does the opposite of recovering gold,it dissolves it into a liquid....then you have a whole new series of things to do.

If you continue to try to process gold,you will learn that the correct answer to this question is NOT "Using it to recover gold".Thats an easy way to get an uninvited guest at your home.This can attract 2 kinds of attention....1 is from authorities,the second is from a thief that overhears you.Either way it's better to be safe,than sorry.....or dead.

Actually, thats what i want, which is to dissolve it into a liquid. I just told her recover gold as a quick response. but i know it dissolves. Thats why i want to do it. I want to try Wohlwill process. Just point me in the right direction thats all i ask. i dont need a road map from point A to B, i just want to know what to be cautious of from people that has mixed this so i dont make any mistakes. Thats all.

First off, instead of buying Muriatic Acid and not knowing what you're going to do with it, spend some more money and buy a hard copy of Hoke. Read through that, as well as everything else on the forum (and ask a lot of questions). Then after a year or two, when you're asked what you're going to do with that Muriatic, at least you'll be able to answer with some knowledge, that you're going to use it to clean cement; which is what you should have said.

That way: you use it for its intended purpose, avoid visits from people you'd rather not know and keep from injuring yourself and others.
