It depends on the filter cartridge, but when open the useful life time is very short. So no no mask with cartridges are useful for anything else than escape mask. If you have some pressured air masks like in paint shops or similar that can be useful.

One thing to note Goldshark if I may. I've been using a $200 HVAC pump for 6 years for my vacuums. I change the oil regularly and it hasn't missed a beat. Edit for name.
