I think you just need to get it started, as with burning it. Like AP does, once it has copper in HCl, it becomes AP and attacks copper quicker. Not sure it will work with copper and sulfuric but it is worth a try. And it uses fewer chemicals.

I read that, and I understand, when using AP on magnetic pins, you have magnetic base metals in your AP solution. And probably shouldn't use the solution on non- magnetic pins.

I get it from a store here that is selling laboratory equipment and chemicals of all sorts. It is exactly 3% peroxide. Was it easy to get the gold out of AP solution?

Good to have! I would keep it for AR and use the normal 10% stuff for AP. But I guess if you have the licence you can get more when you need it.

The is no sulfuric in AP. It is made using Hydrochloric acid and maybe, peroxide. Better yet use HCl and an aquarium pump to supply the extra oxygen in place of the peroxide.

Mostly true- ultimately you can make Ferric leach if the Iron content gets too high. This is one of the issues with using Iron to cement out the Copper if you are going to re-use the solution.

I think the issue is that Ferric Chloride do not rejuvenate by the Oxygen (air bubbling) as Cupric Chloride do.
