Hello. I am called Jason. Been a member here for a couple of years, but never have started my own post before. I enjoy refining gold from circuit board scrap and just recently came across some material that is outside my area of comfort/(I hate to say EXPERTISE here!) But let's call it comfort zone.
So, I got a case recently of approx 300 packs of RF connectors from a company called Sealectro. I got excited because all of the printing on the bags the connectors were in was made by a dot-matrix style printer, telling me 1980's era. And sure enough, inside the box was a little card, saying "ACCEPTED BY CUBIC CORP:RF CONNS OCT 3 1986"
SO the connectors were sold to and accepted by CUBIC in 86. They probably were made a couple to a few years prior. Probably. At LEAST mid 80's if not early 80s.
Each pack had a new plated connector, a little plated pin, and two tiny plated washers. Also, 3 tiny tiny bits of plastic. I spent a couple hours opening the packets and removing the plastic. At the end, I had approx 1255 grams of plated connectors, washers, and pins. No plastic, no tin from solder. I looked up the company and they made gold plated brass connectors.
I mentioned I usually just do circuit board scrap, so am unfamiliar with plated brass and the techniques used to refine the gold from them.
I would like to sell these connectors. Any interested refiners want to take a shot at this material? I feel, due to its vintage and cleanliness, and the quantity, it's got to be a good batch. I'm including some pics. Of the clean material. Of the "accepted in 1986" card. Of the shipping label from the case itself, with old school printing. Notice the names of the company that bought the case "CUBIC Corp" and the name of the manufacturer "Sealectro" all match up. Also, pics of the actual unopened packs themselves. And a pic on my little scale of the weight. I did leave 5 bags intact with one set of connectors and the associated little bits of plastic inside. That way, any interested parties could see for themselves the provenance and true age of this material. Early to mid eighties. Good stuff.
So I am asking 250 for the full lot. Feel free to message me if interested. Thx for reading this far, I have been a long time fan of this site in general, and am a gold refining enthusiast myself. Just happy to be here!

The fact that the picture of the lot in closed bags was taken on 2022-09-24 and the cleaner looking copper ones are all on 2022-09-27.... took him 3 days to strip, wash and dry to a nice clean copper look? He left 5 bags closed for pictures.
