Hi!

Confused on what to do with these (keep, sell, pick and Refine) and what the solder mask / fingers might be. Research did not pull much info. Possible VOX amplifier boards. Interesting components. Have about 10 of them. All slightly different. Appreciate it.

Yes I got ahead of myself on a couple
Of them. Some nice Ducati tantalum I believe. Some of those go for a nice ticket on eBay by themselves. Was thinking of stopping by a yard nearby and see if they would use the xrf. But I think it takes a particular gun for precious metal.

Not much value overall. Some low-yield tantalums, some transistors (little bit of gold), one dog bone low yield silver... And few gold plated diodes (uncommon, I didn´t see them very often).
Potentiometers maybe some gold or palladium plating on inside parts.
Overall not too much, this particular era was quite "non-rewarding" in terms of gold and PMs in the electronics :D Big onset of DIP black ICs and early CMOS logic.

If there is no notable amount of PM`s that you can recover from a PCB then the best thing you can do is collect a bigger amount adn sell to the scrapyard.
Put it this way, you will use the same amount of time by processing these boards then processing high or very high yield boards, so it is not worth to waste your time on something that is not rewarding.
But if you just want to learn and do not value your time as the most precious asset you own, then sure you can process everything.

Be safe

Pete.

Thanks guys. Been out of the game for 10 years. Needed a hobby so I started collecting again. I’ll start posting more. The gold that is on these is dull, assume fairly thick so that’s nice. Not in it to get rich I learned that the first time around. Not gonna happen. Funny thing, I will make offers on eBay on what I think it’s worth divided by 1.5 or 2. I found one lot I won that was 2 miles from my house. I went, it was a very large warehouse filled with eScrap. I mean this was a serious operation. Cool people. I’ll have to go back. They were just selling didn’t seem to have any idea or care what the content was actually worth. They had a box of pentium pros they showed me. Never seen anything like it. I’m in Houston place was off Eldridge rd.

I’m guessing it’s coming from Mexico just having a look around the place. But I have no idea.
