I was curious, I did the Aq Reg. And precipitated gold out
And have around 6 coffee filters saved up now of gold to be
Melted. But I kind of wanted to do one more bath in dilute
Nitric to purify the remaining gold in the filters.. I just want to
Confirm the dilute nitric won’t dissolve the gold even though
There will be almost no other metals to dissolve into the nitric..

It is likely there are still chloride ions in the precipitate, filter papers, etc. Adding nitric will create a bit of aqua regia and dissolve a bit of gold. If you really want to clean it up, redissolve it all and do another drop.

I only filter twice. Once to separate the gold from a recovery step and once after dissolving the gold and chilling the gold solution.
The gold stays in the beaker or flask to get precipitated, decanted and washed according these steps: "getting shiny gold"

And dried in a beaker. Then melt as described in the same post.
Good luck getting that shiny button with a nice pipe. :G
