ok so i hear the old 2 ps and 1ps from b4 1992 are sumthink like 97percent copper can u bang loads ov these in liquid and separat the coper from the zinc or whtever its got in with it?, and is it goin to be the same price as dry bright clean coper, i know this is not aloud and im talking as a what if kind of question ,,, chears kev

Looking at the chart I found, the 1p and 2p coins are copper plated steel.

I just re-read the chart I posted.
My mistake :oops:
1991 and earlier are made of bronze.
So the 97% copper content is probably right then.

If they're coins that you're talking about, the coins themselves might be worth more than the copper content from a numismatic perspective.

Pick up a book or check out websites that sell coins.

The 1p and 2p coins we're talking about are still in UK circulation.

Worth about 2 cents and 4 cents in your money.
