Estimate surface area of part in sq.cm, double by 0.5 /10000 cm double by gold density in g/cub.cm, this is for one parthow I can calculate above part gold content?
Number of Contacts 2 Pitch 0.100" (2.54mm) Number of Rows 1 Row Spacing - Mounting Type Surface Mount Material Copper Alloy Contact Finish Gold Contact Finish Thickness 20.0µin (0.51µm) Base Product Number 812-22
You do know how to calculate area and then volume don't you?pls can you help me?
Guesstimate per 1000total 475 usd for whole 75 000 pcs pins?
If you do not know how to calculate, this might not be the hobby for you.as ı am new so I do not know how to calculate
Guesstimate per 1000
As I said I did just a rough guesstimate and ended up with 7 ish grams per 1000.That number sounds insane, $475 so approximately 1/4 Toz of gold from 1000 pins that only have 20 microinches of plating? It looks like you’re figuring that using the volume of the pins, not the surface area? They aren’t solid gold.
I believe it is an exceptional yield if you could manage 0.008g/1000 pins , that would mean that 75000 pins yield 600g of gold.... that amount of gold for 475 USD is a great opportunity.... I have left out the part of dealing with Beryllium from springs. As I said I did just a rough guesstimate and ended up with 7 ish grams per 1000.
I might have missed a decimal point somewhere.
Edit to add:
Aah I saw it now, calculated with area only so it has to be multiplied with thickness as well.
This means one ends up with 0.008 ish grams per 1000 items
The 475 was based on wrong calculations.I believe it is an exceptional yield if you could manage 0.008g/1000 pins , that would mean that 75000 pins yield 600g of gold.... that amount of gold for 475 USD is a great opportunity.... I have left out the part of dealing with Beryllium from springs.
All in all i will try to calculate as well just to see what would yield 1 pin for gold.
Pete
Oh I see now, i have misinterpreted the situation and calculation...after re-reading the whole post...my bad...still i will make a calculation just for the fun of it...The 475 was based on wrong calculations.
