SUPERB 9CT GOLD 20" OVAL BELCHER CHAIN 2.3G SCRAP

 This is one of many ebay listing I've spotted that have listed an item as being 9ct gold. I have always been taught that Gold is measured in karats and is marked kt. While gem stones are measured in carats and marked ct.
 So am I educated wrongly or do people outside the United States do this because of their education to do so? Can someone explain this 9ct to me?

Here in the UK we use carat as the measure the same as your karat just different spelling,be careful counterfeits are now very common in the hallmarks.Check out the Assay Office websites and im sure you can get a download here on the forum for hallmarks.Good luck but be aware with the high price of gold the conmen are just waiting!

Thanks guys! I really like the link aflacglobal. Come to think of all the articals I find being sold as 9ct. are coming from Canada.
