Having used a cell successful on a small batch of gold plated flatware, I would like to try a/p on a large number of pieces (200+).
Does anyone have any input? LazerSteve made it look so simple in his free videos I feel compelled to try. I so like the idea of always having your Au in sight.

The copper chloride (acid peroxide method) works great if you do not have a lot of copper to dissolve, the more copper the more waste you generate, and the more acid and peroxide you use.

what are base metals of flat ware, if iron or stainless steel is involved the cell would be better, you would not need to dissolve all the metal, even if they were copper which I have never seen used as eating utensils.

this is a great method for some applications but for flatware I say forget it.

All gold plated flatware I have seen was stainless. Therefore, AP would not work well. As Richard Butcher said, the sulfuric cell is your best bet. Don't expect much gold.
