As I recall, if you make purchases from a chemical supply house, and buy reagent grades of acids, they are concentrated. Be prepared to pay a heavy price for them. They are far more expensive than commercial grades of acids, which are more than adequate for refining.

You may come to understand that nitric acid is difficult to buy. It may not be made available to you without a business from which you can make the purchases.

You can buy muriatic acid at many of the larger hardware stores. It's commonly used for cleaning masonry, along with other applications. Should you go there, make sure it is not buffered. It should be a relatively clear solution. It's very hard on the lungs, so avoid breathing the fumes.

You will find excellent instructions on this forum for making a dilute form of nitric, which appears to serve many of the readers quite well.
