Hello everyone, I have been a lurker here for four months and have learned a lot from everyone. Thank you for this very informative site that I would like to contribute to. I live on the island of Oahu and have just started harvesting electronic components for the precious metals. I used to collect cpu's and LED's because of my interest in electronics.
This site is right up my alley; I would enjoy working with metals, and chemicals and want to learn more. By the way I am just a jack of all trades, but a master of none, looking for a hobby that I would enjoy doing with my spare time.
I am looking for people of similar interests on Oahu to share and learn from. By the way I love photos and in the future will post some of the harvest. I have never worked with the acids mentioned here, I know it is hard to purchase and will try to obtain the chemicals to make some Nitric acid and will keep ya posted. I did purchase some sulphuric acid and muriatic acid, I want to experiment on a very small scale. My first experiment will me to remove the gold fingers from the boards. If all is successful I would like to make small bars. That brings me to the melting and puring process. I have done a little research and would like to obtain a small kiln like the ones listed below.
