If you find you have interest in refining, I'd highly recommend you start by reading Hoke's books on testing and refining. While some of the information won't lend itself to the recovery of values from e scrap, the basics are very important, so if you get a firm understanding of testing and processing procedures, which you will learn from Hoke's books, you will be far ahead of the game when you start processing.
