I've been to Salvation Army public auctions and they usually have a lot of old computers and other electronics. They usually have auctions 3 times a week in the Dallas area at the main distribution warehouse where all the donations go to be sorted. I haven't been to one in a while - need to start going again now that I have a trailer! - but the last auction I went to had seven or eight pallets of old computer stuff. I didn't have a way to move that much at one time or the storage so I didn't make a bid but the winning bid was very low if I recall. I was told that the Monday morning auction was the best one since the weekend is always good for donations.
