AR Confusion

I am seeing a couple of different formulas for AR. Is it indeed 1:3 nitric/hydrochloric or is it 1:3 nitric/muaratic? This is after i am bathing my components in 70 Nitric till i get a blue solution then pouring it off for later use. Should I do a different bath before all this or am I really just mixed up. My main question is which is an easier way to get decent results for a novice?

Muriatic and hydrochloric are the same thing.
