Once having worked in a gold mine, "in the black mining hills of south dakota" (a line from the Beatles "Rocky Racoon") I found the ore would often "follow me home" Seemed it would hide in my lunchbox. It became lost in time, after once attempting to grind some of it in an old second hand rock tumbler, with thoughts of possibly having a ring made with it. That only made a mess, and the rest got shelved. I've recently began wondering if it should be unshelved, and found this forum in a quest for information. Thanks for being here GRF!

Needless to say, the assay report on the ore you have would make a big difference in whether you should attempt to recover the values, or not. It's not as easy as some assume it to be, and may not be economically viable. It all hinges on the nature of the ore, and the concentration level of the gold contained within.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks Harold, It probly isn't very rich, that was relatively low grade, except in places. I was kinda picky to what i let follow me home ;) Still, it would be fun to mess with :)
