Where did you read this?
I believe the copper in AR is already in chloride salt form in solution and will not change by adding salt.

Why do you want to separate copper from AR?

Have you read dealing with waste?

Separate the copper from what? Are you trying to separate the copper from dissolved precious metals in the solution? If so, selective precipitation using PH adjustment doesn't work. There are too many overlapping metal salts that precipitates at a given PH value. It's much easier to precipitate the precious metal first and then remove the copper from solution by cementing the copper from solution onto iron.
