Happy New Year everyone!

My question is regarding how many paper coffee filters can I expect to be dissolved in approximately 1 L of AR? Over the years ( yes, years) I've been saving paper coffee filters containing gold I've obtained using the AP process. Well, I'm finally ready to take that next step and I have obtained some nitric acid and SMB. My main concern is that there may be too much paper to be dissolved. I only purchased a liter of nitric (yes, I'm aware that will make more than one liter of AR) and that wasn't cheap. Do you guys think that I should just separate out the solids, brushing the gold off the filters into a single or couple of filters and then wash with HCL to remove any contaminants?

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration,

Bill

Second that. Get a cheap frying pan in a second hand store and incinerate the filters. Kadriver, aka Sreetips have a video where he does it. But read some more posts on the forum too. I think Hoke calls it "the burn pile" but don't follow her advice about petrol on the filters.

... looks like Kadriver have two videos about filters. I don't remember exactly how he did it, so I have no comments on the videos at the moment.
