Hi, my name is Wooshketon (Native American), but I go by Anderson. Ive been in the metal industry for just around 7 years now, and started off by melting metals in a foundry and blacksmithing, and now am mostly a full time blacksmith. I have had a knack for studying the refining of metals, and when I discovered Gold Refining/processing, I was hooked. I have everything I need for a first run, and have asked around for help on the procedure. Glad to be here!

Welcome to GRF.

Asking questions before jumping in makes it easier to get answers at times. There are many helpful and knowledgeable people here.

My best advice is to read and study before anything else, you may well be a metallurgist or even a nuclear scientist but I will guess you know nothing about the chemistry of recovery and refining.
This isn’t meant as an insult but to stop you and make you think before you act , you are going to dissolve some of the most un reactive metals and create some dangerous fumes and waste products which can injure or kill .
Read Hoke and understand it’s teachings , available as a free download from Frugal Refiners and others , then come back with a plan we can critique and help you move forward safely.
You have a long journey ahead but you can do this safely and successfully if you do the groundwork and study.

I agree with Nick. Our son is a chemical engineer with a master's degree. He knows nothing about refining.

Regarding the involving chemicals you can use the same channels above or the posts of "kurtak" yggdrasil moderator they provide excellent remarks on safety and methods.
our forum is full of excellent refiners none can be compared good or bad. so far I am new here and got speedy learning with the above supporting hands.

my little bit is shared here ,you have to dive in this vast ocean of gold refiners sharing ocean when you have free hours(hours I mean) my sharing is squeeze learning.you lean to learn from black to gold as metal is more precious so refining is .

very true. My current chemistry teacher wants me to bring everything in to his class before school, because he actually hasnt done these types of reactions, but damn if he isnt a chemistry wizard. Ive done a large amount of research and preparation, but still dont feel like i have enough, so Im going to continue studying. Thank you for all the tips!

With that attitude I very much look forward to seeing your progress and if in doubt post here and help will be on hand so long as you do your part and study, sometimes the obvious just won’t make sense we have all been there.
