Hi I am new here i think I have a problem I have added sodium metabisulfite, but it didn't resolve. The solution turns black and then back to yellow, I have added too much sodium metabisulfite and its now sitting under the beaker. Its still reacting when I add it In the reaction, what should I do please, I had 50 grams of scrap gold when I tested it, it was around 60% gold I putted it in aqua regia, I can't turn it back to dust now

As Dave said, it is against forum rules to double post.
So read the answers in there.

Anyway welcome to us.
I believe you will need to study much more, so here it is.

We ask our new members to do 3 things.
1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: Screen Readable Copy of Hoke's Book
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: Safety
3. And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum: Dealing with Waste

Suggested reading: The Library
