Hi all,

I'm curious to know if anyone has tried (with success) filtering any gold containing solutions with a polypropylene cloth 1 micron.
I have problems filtering the solution from a sulfuric cell, as the gold powder takes forever to settle and goes trough much the filters I have.

Also, I was planning on using these filters as an anode bag to collect the sludge from my silver cell and to collect the sludge from my copper sulfate cell.

I believe the 1 micron cloths should catch all the pm powders and the filters should resist AR treatment ???

cheers,

Alex

I just did a lot of silver last week and a little gold a month ago, both times I used a 1 micron duda cloth filter , and It takes forever to filter all the silver.
But wise from experience I keep all the liquid i filter and let it stand for a few days.

It is surprising how much get down with the liquid, so now I just wait and decant whenever I can.
