gold dropping process other then SMB...

one of my friend suggest hydrazine hydrochloride acid are more powerful and efficient gold dropping retargent , any one can try it? or its really works very well? please share your experience if any....

While it is powerful. Hydrazine is not only highly and easily combustible, it is extremely toxic. Theres many other safer methods for recovery and refining here on the forum.

I do know someone personally that died from hydrazine, and they were backed by a chemical engineering degree. Severe burns can turn fatal.

I agree with acpeacemaker about the hazardous nature of hydrazine. Besides SMB, ferrous sulfate is widely used, and oxalic acid is useful for a second refine if you're looking for high quality, but it is a bit more difficult since high temperatures are needed. There are others as well. I believe Jon likes ascorbic acid, but it can bring down other values as well. Kurt uses copper. There are other options.

It's also the best for dropping from a base metal loaded dirty solution fast.
