I'm not sure if this has been posted before, ( if so, kindly remove) I do gold plating, the standard i was taught was 25 microns thickness. I have found numerous auto emblems in junk yards still attached to junk cars,,, and gold plated to boot.
So far I haven't been charged for a few at a time when i purchase something else. I'm still collecting them.

I doubt if any car emblem, in history, has ever been plated 25 microns thick. First of all, brush plating equipment isn't capable of plating near that thick. Maybe, 0.25 microns is a more reasonable estimate - that would be 10 microinches, which is much more likely. To plate 25 microns, you would have to rub that wand on the part for maybe 100 minutes. Do you do that?

Kansas City. Right up the street.

sun o gun, liars in every corner of the world, i don't know how to measure thickness, the guy who taught me told me so. maybe i can sell him a 25 micron finish, heh heh.
