I want to try to remove the gold plating by electrolysis in sulfuric acid...
just like in this video

bought acid 94%
To do this, I bought 2 kilograms of caps, the purchase price was the price of copper on the stock exchange....
Does it make sense to soak them in hydrochloric acid to remove the solder that holds the crystal?
Is there any value in this solder (silver, gold)?
Is the information in the video about the gold yield of 200 milligrams/1 kg caps correct?

I did a bunch of these several years ago and the yield was terrible....I don't have any numbers for you though. I now use a few of the lids for the stock pot and the rest goes to the scrapyard as is for #2 copper.

I tried a PC power supply in the beginning, but I had all kinds of trouble with it. I think the computer power supplies have some type of protection circuit that trips off when I tried using it in that way. I had to find one of those old analog 12v battery chargers and it works great....I still use it to this day.

If any of the solder is over the gold plating it might contain very small amounts of gold , I don’t know but I doubt you will find silver.
