Hi all, found this forum through a search for Hokes book which I had seen mentioned in one of sreetips videos.
I'm UK based and have been intrigued for a while about repurposing metals and hoping to turn it into a hobby working towards retirement.
So, I'll be reading a lot about the safety, where to start, what equipment is needed and taking it in small steps.
The whole process has lot to it for different metals.
Pleased to meet you all and I promise I'll do a forum search before I ask the questions

Well, its early days yet, but yes, gathering some waste and seeing what can be produced from it.
Obviously that may change as I know very little about all the processes but watching some of the videos out there seeing the growing crystals etc are all in the thoughts for the future.
See if there's a 'how do they do that' program on the TV I'll watch it. Typical man I suppose.
I'm always interested in some new knowledge I like the idea of taking what would be normally be thrown away and seeing what could be produced from it.

I'd start by watching sreetips on youtube, I done that last few years. Helps you familiarize with quite a bit of basic chemistry.

Maybe no one told You before

but Refinning is Not Hobby

this is very serious stuff ,That have to be learn it the right way
because if we don’t pay the attention to it
it can hurt Us pretty bad or kill Us.

First Forget about the word “Hobby”

treat Metal Refinning very seriously

give yourself time to learn ,before playing with acid and others stuff.

those stuff produce lot of Fumes
that if breath it can hurt You or killed You

precious metal refinning is serious business

I learn it the hard way
when I treat it like a hobby.

When working with acid never lower your guard
that’s when peoples get hurt.

First learn all about safety
Read Hokes book
and search the forum
Many peoples with lot of Knowledge post it good stuff

then be careful with scammer and their scheme.
