It just occurred to me after a month or so of lurking and a couple weeks of posting I never introduced myself. I found my way here looking for the 'easy way' to turn e-scrap into gold bars Actually, As a child my dad would make a trip to the scrap yard a few times a year when doing yard cleanup. After he passed I took many of his treasures (broken trailer axles, snow wheels for a 79 ford pickup) etc into the scrap yard. Garbage in, cash out. I was hooked. I have spent the bulk of my life either working as a mechanic or for a few years as a database programmer. Seemed like no matter what I did there was always a little too much month left at the end of the money. Pretty much as long as I have had a license, I have hauled scrap to make ends meet. As I got better at grading and finding material I found that I could make a better living dealing in other peoples junk than I could punching a clock. In the last few years I began to pay more and more attention to e-scrap and gold content not withstanding found there to be a decent amount of non ferrous metal in each. After a few ebay auctions through the years for fingers and processors I decided it was time to see what it was all about. Imagine my surprise when I found that in many cases I get more for my materials on ebay than can realistically be recovered from it.
For now I am soaking up the info and thinking about doing my own finger batch in the future. Its great to have so much combined knowledge of processing and refining methods available in one place, not to mention Rick to help foster my families new found rockhounding hobby
