Hello everyone. For the last eight months, I've been reading a lot of the information you all have graciously contributed here to this site. On countless occasions, your information has helped me in my recovery and refining efforts. As a matter of fact, it's been the deciding factor in my success. I've been a silent member so far, finding most answers to my questions by searching. I felt it was time to speak up and offer a sincere, "Thank you" to all of you.

Thanks especially to the experts who've selflessly shared their little-known knowledge and taken the time to patiently answer all the questions (repeatedly  ) asked by just about everyone who asked. That's commendable. And thanks, also, to all of you who've asked those questions and especially to those who followed through and posted their results, success or failure. It's all contributed to the immense value of this website.

I would like to contribute something myself, however, most of what I've learned has been covered already. I did have some further, yet limited, success on a topic that was only touched upon which I'd like to share and I have a few failed attempts that I've not yet found answers to. That will come in following posts in the respective sections as this post is approaching too-long already.

How long have you been refining gold? : 8 months actively after 6 mos observing and researching
What are you looking for in our community? : Knowledge - found it!
How did you discovered our Forum? : Internet search for gold recovery info

Other : A friend was sitting on a large cache of electronic scrap that he's had for years and finally decided to attempt recovering the metals, mainly gold and silver. I watched him through his trials and errors with limited info from a short book on the Aqua Regia process. As he encountered problems, I searched for solutions. As I look back on the errors, I cringe at the amount of gold that was lost! Eventually, he gave me some of the scrap (the more difficult stuff to figure out  ) and I started my own little endeavor. I've processed mostly plated parts, from semi-conductor scrap and a couple batches of gold bearing ore. I've tried many different processes including AR, AP, sulfuric de-plating cell and even used Techni-strip. The scrap material has run out but we have a number of failed-attempt batches that are sitting on a shelf until I can learn how to deal with them.
