I've been reading this forum for some time and thought I should finally introduce myself.

Profession : Pharmacist
Hobbies/Interests : Detroit sports especially the Lions, scotch, Xbox (shooters and RPG's), working on the house, bowling
How long have you been refining gold? : Have not started
What are you looking for in our community? : Information to learn and then in time experience to share
How did you discovered our Forum? : Stumbled upon after random searches
I'm close to 3 years out of college, been married about 8 months. I have a 12 year old son from a previous relationship. I graduated from Ferris State University on the west side of Michigan and moved to South Carolina for work. Job's good but a little slow at times. I really wish I had a profession that allowed me to work more with my hands. We will see if I feel the same way in 10 - 15 years. Growing up in Michigan I was blessed by the sporting gods (with the exception of the Detroit Lions although they did have the best running back to step on to a football field in my lifetime) and follow most sports. Luckily we also have the University of Michigan so college sports were fun too. Sorry Ohio fans...
I stumbled across this forum searching the net for who knows what. This looks like a perfect opportunity to use my hands and use some of the chemistry knowledge I gained in college. I'm particularly interested in scrapping computers which in time will also give me the opportunity to process some gold fingers. Being new to this I have entertained fantasies about lining my bedroom closet with gold bars. I realize this is just a fantasy and the reality is more like grams after months of work but hey, it's my dream and I'm keeping it. I've seen some debate on what to start with and it seems that karat gold would be the most profitable to start with but E-scrap peaks my interest. For anyone that doesn't know pharmacists share some history with the ancient alchemist and turning nothing (garbage) to gold hits home.
Big thanks to everyone that has shared their knowledge and experiences. I'm sure all of this info is available on Wiki or in textbooks but there would be no one to stress the importance of Hoke or the struggles of starting out without a forum like this.
