The link below is spam, relating to a topic unrelated to precious metals. Click at your own peril. It has been allowed to remain on the forum as an example of what it takes to be banned, permanently, from the forum.

arden,

Just get rid of the signature and all will be cool. We really need to establish some guidelines as to what is and what isn't permitted in the signatures, as far as advertising is concerned. At first glance, I would think it would have to be precious metals related. Any ideas or comments on this?

I take a different approach. I have taken note that when a link is provided in a sig line, and it's not related to the subject matter of the board, two things can be relied upon. The individual in question posts so it appears he is just a friendly member, and generally does NOT return to the forum. Their sole purpose is to spam the board.

This guy need not worry about removing his spam ---he has been banned, as will all others that duplicate his attempt to fool those of us that moderate.

Jimdoc has been instrumental in detecting these people, for which I thank him profusely.

Why did you leave his link there Harold?
Ok, having deleted my original response, which was in error.
Moderators do not have access to that part of the software. Only administrators have that privilege. Had I been given that authority, I could have deleted his sig line, which is how his spam appears. I wanted to leave the thread, to serve as an example for others that may wish to emulate his actions.

I'll post a message in his stating that the link is spam, but I prefer to leave the thread intact for reasons I have outlined.

Thanks for asking. 8)

Harold
