Hello All!

Arian here in AZ

I'm super excited to be a part of this forum!

I was just turned this way by a Youtuber, @Sreetips

Im a dental technician and my wife and I own a small dental lab/training facility in northwest Phoenix area
so its basically just the two of us

I provide a dental implant solution for people who have lost all of their teeth, and its a prosthesis that to this point has only been made in Germany and parts of Europe, but Ive been pushing it here in the US for over a decade, and am training other techs to make it too.

The reason I'm here is that I use a gold electroforming system. Basically the Gold comes in a manufactured liquid suspension. In a 500ml bottle there is 10.25 grams of 99.9% gold. The solution smells like Ammonia, and the equipment the company provides is called an electroformer...basically it is a glass beaker with magnetic stirrer, and plating head on top. I connect small titanium parts to the current and these are suspended in the gold solution in the beaker...the unit heats the liquid to about 60 degreed c Celsius , and the entire process takes about 4 hours and electro deposits a uniform coping of gold onto the titanium piece at .2 thickness...the machine also has a .3 thickness setting as well

Im paying over 1400 now to buy this liquid from Germany, and I'm trying to learn about the process and possibly make my own solution in house because at this cost, its hard to make any profit.

Glad to be here and learn!!!Goldcourseimages.007.jpeg

Welcome to the forum.
Show a picture of the bottle with its details and we might be able to help determine how it’s made and from what .

I was told from a retired employee from a competing brand of solution that their liquid is an ammonium sulphite base, and looking at their SDS it says a pH of 9 and vapor density of 1.08 g/cm3 at 20 °C

Also described as Cyanide Free Gold Plating Solution in their literature

Electroplating gold is very fine process, where any contaminants could completely ruin the result. These soultion are proprietary blends of not only the gold carrier (this ammonium-gold-sulfite compound), but also additives helping to create even and defined surface. But it could be known how to make these, maybe some lower-end performance, but you should be able to do it :)

I hear you, I don't want to compromise the result I'm getting, but it's so expensive right now

I can bet we have members who know exactly how to make this but whether they will share if it’s proprietary is another but understandable matter .

I get it... It's used a lot in Germany, not so much on the US, and I think the dealer in getting it from is paying a lot for shipping this... I'm wanting to make it or my personal use... Hoping someone can help
