Hello to all. I wish to take the opportunity to say "Hola" and introduce myself to the forum.
I am a former gold and silver miner and assayer of many years. My experience was gained in many of the largest mines in Nevada, California and Arizona. I am very interested in fire assay and wet chemical qualitative analysis of ores and metals, particularly selective precipitation. I have worked with many wet processes as well as atomic absorption, but my forte is fire assay of oxide and sulfide ores.
Since retiring to Honduras I've found Central America to be a great opportunity for someone with mining and assay skills. Here gold, silver and platinum are relatively common but knowledge is not.
I'm very happy to have found this forum. I can already see the vast storehouse of information and knowledge contained herein, and none of us is too experienced, too smart or too old to learn. I'm looking forward to learning from the people here, as well as sharing anything I can with anyone who can learn from my experiences.
