Hello, folks. My name is Fred McCoy, and I am the CEO of New American Mining Company, based in Castle Rock, Colorado. We are a fully integrated E-Waste & ITAD shop with in-house recovery and refining. I have spent the last 40 years in the IT world, building data centers and running an ITAD company. My background is in chemical engineering and I am also a working musician. I have ADHD, so serial entrepreneurship has been a godsend for me and a natural extension of my otherwise annoying habits.
Been lurking here for a few years and finally thought I'd introduce myself. Been recovering gold and other PMs as a hobby for 20 years, and the opportunity presented itself last year to scale this thing up. It has been one heck of any education going from working out of my barn to processing over 100 tons a month at the moment, and we are projecting a run rate of 10 tons/day by summer, with much more demand for our services than we are ready for right now.
I also mine (both placer and hard rock), and have recently done my first river dredging expedition. I'm amazed my wife still puts up with me....
I have learned so much from Butcher, Orvi and others, I can't tell you. Getting back to my roots in ChemE has been challenging, but it's coming back to me. You guys all completely rock, and I am indebted to you for your willingness to share your depth of understanding of this world. There are simply no comparable resources that I've ever found.
