Hi, folks. Obviously I'm new to the site. I was poking around over on the Instructables web site looking for info about recovering PMs from old electronics and one of the authors put a thank you to this forum. I decide to check it out.

I'm overwhelmed with all the information that's here. I'll be digging through these forums for weeks before I feel I have enough info to ask an intelligent question.

I've read over some of the newbie threads. I also took a brief look at Hoke's book, but I grabbed the printable one. I'm going to search for a Kindle version of it, but if I don't come across that will have to grab the straight PDF version and convert it myself

My main interest in this is I have a bunch of various old computer stuff and cables. I figured there would likely be some PMs in them. If nothing else, maybe I can get into a new hobby that I'll be able to break even on.

But thanks in advance for my future questions.

welcome! you came to the right place that has people who actually know what they are doing. You are starting off on the right foot and hopefully you will learn a lot and enjoy you new hobby... when the gold bug bites, its hard shake it off.
