Hey guys. I've been a big fan of this site for a while just for information purposes from afar, but now I'm incredibly dedicated to learning how to refine gold filled jewelry, and meet new people. I've read many of the great posts for beginners, and I'm working on reading CM Hoke's book. I'm most likely going to purchase a DVD from Lazersteve as well! I'm aware of forum rules, and excited to learn from all the great professionals on this site. I'm 27, back in school for a business degree, and living in Western Mass. If anyone has any tips on what exactly to start learning with refining gold filled as my goal, definitely shoot me a message! I know the guided tour will help. I have a feeling I'll be a good member of the community. One question that has had me wondering though...what would be the easiest method of refining? Would reverse electroplating (of say GP jewelry) be an easier or more complicated process than refining GF, or chips/fingers? I'm sure I'll figure it out soon!

Thanks for all the great info! -Eric

I do not process jewelry only odd few pieces of karat scrap but as far as I know cell is the best choice for gold plated. There is little sense in dissolving them whole as value is simply not there.
