Just joined....so much to read.
Basically at this point, just looking to help the GF sell some of her
jewelry but I'm seeing the depth of this site is very deep and might
become a new hobby.
Any advise for a complete newbie?
Is it possible for me to make a few bucks
scouring for scrap and selling it?
I guess I'll find out as I read on....
It does occur to me with gold at what like $50 a gram,
milli and micro grams can add up to $$, yes?

And if anyone has a recommendation on the best place to
sell jewelry to, I'd love to hear it.

Welcome to the forum, GoldSchlagger. It's a great hobby for the patient man. There is a lot to read here but, there is also a lot to be learned from it. If you like you can post some pictures of what you have to sell in the "Sell or Trade" thread.

There is a Coin/Jewelry store in Concord that pays by gold weight at 98% spot. There might be one near you who will pay that much, also.
