Seems like the only thing hotter than the weather here is this website. I joined in about two months ago, and have been nothing but impressed, not only at the knowlege base here but at the level of respect shown to those with a desire to learn more. If only the rest of the world. . . . . ..anyway
My name is Rick and I just wanted to say hello and thank you for a great website, it is truely AWESOME

Welcome to the nuthouse, Rick.

I must say, we try to keep things civil here--not a lot of room for rancor, nor for morons. We try to encourage those with stars in their eyes to get a grip on reality and try to learn from those of us that have some experience. Doesn't always work----some guys just won't let go of stupid notions, but those that desire to learn back yard refining have a wonderful opportunity on this forum.

Make sure you read the posts, and, by all means, get a copy of Hoke's book, so you become familiar with the concept and commonly accepted procedures. It won't help you directly with processing e scrap, but the knowledge you'll gain from the book will be an invaluable aid in the avenue of refining you pursue.

Thanks Harold for the advise. I spend a fair amount of time each week reading the posts, and I know there is still a lot to learn. That's why I'll keep quiet with my questions untill I have a better grasp of which way is up. Of course a lot of them have been addressed in the forum, eliminating the need for some of the "moronic" questions. :)

Hello Phil
