My name is Marcel and I am a 44 year old male and proud daddy of 3 kids, living in Germany.
I have been electronic engineer from the mid 1980s until 2005, running a company that designed and produced PC cards and some other electronic devices.
We had our own SMD equipment and by the time production moved more and more to asia, I began thinking of how to recycle electronics and cardboards.
I must say, I was amazed by the semi-professional scene of gold refiners that I found in the various US forums.
Amercians have the nice attitude of sharing their experiences, whereby in europe goldrefining remains a BIG secret to any beginner person.
I wrote an eboook about refining gold from electronic waste, but I must admit university knowledge is very limited when it comes to low-cost solutions. It is unbelieveable how simple you guys have manged to recover PM from electronics, sometimes only sad that due to the lack of information sources that last little bit of insight sometimes is missing! I take my hat for that.
I myself mostly use the CBX/Acid/Peroxid method to recover gold. I have some other techniques that use almost no chemicals and I try to avoid anything very aggressive. That is also because I am doing my "research" on a small scale in my home and if you have small kids, try to avoid to have guns and chemicals in your household
I am buying an storing material right now and I am planning to refine it later, or sell it if does not fit my preferred process, and start a small business with it.
That´s all from me for now. If you like you can come over and visit my blog, which is mostly in german, but there my be some interesting images or videos anyway.

Welcome to the forum Marcel. Where you live, looks a lot like Iowa, where I live! I have read some of your posts already, and I think we can learn a lot from each other.

EDIT: It would be great to know what you are saying in the video on your blog. I can translate the text but not the spoken word. :|
