I never experimented and no recovery attempts yet but anxious to do so but have tons of questions for experienced and helpful like-minded friends on here. Im 39 from reading pa. Friendly guy coming out of a 10 year relationship so occupying myself with turning e waste into nuggets would help alleviate a broken heart and help me build myself back up from nothing but my circuit boards and few collectibles and some necessities to stay away from rock bottom. I appreciate this forum the welcome and the cool people that is thinking about precious gold and can't wait to meet new people find some answers and hopefully help as I go along. Once I can I will contribute in other ways to help us all keep this forum alive and in good spirits and I really appreciate u guys! Hello hello and will u all be my friend. I am yous thanks guys !

Welcome to us.
Here is what we ask from our new members, this will keep you occupied for a while I guess ;)

We ask our new members to do 3 things.
Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum Screen Readable Copy of Hoke's Book
Then read the safety section of the forum
And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum

What kind of scrap do you have?
Some scrap has waay less Gold then expected.
Other has more.
So learn to search the forum and you will find loads of info.

To add to Yggdrasil's advice:
Before you try anything with chemicals, including buying a truckload of chemicals like urea or goldex gold stripper, as seen on you tube, please present your plan here for us to review. It will save you time, money and possibly health issues, claims and law suits.

Have fun studying and be safe.

Ps: Ask if you can't make sense of something. Take notes and write your own manual for the processes you intend to perform.
The info here is very scattered and can get confusing for beginners. We try very hard to, but not all disinfo is caught and corrected.

Martijn.
