anyone seen these pins before, from a late 80's, early 90's
motorola two way radio board hhn4008a. one pin near penny for reference
two pins show the 2 styles
one pin in ap solution over 12 hours seems to have some decay but solution turned smoky dark geen, copper from solder on pins?

ok, pin in ap solution developed dark color so i added another cap of h202, solution cleared to geen. Then left for awhile and solution evaporated in my warm phoenix shed. so i added muratic to cover and another cap of peroxide. later i checked and the connector was floating in the solution. left it to soak and today sun 14 sept. connector is gone.Dissolved? solution still lime green color. any ideas?

AP has tendency to dissolve gold if peroxide is present in large quantity. Test solution with Stannous to see if gold is present in solution. If test is negetive for gold then most likely it is in fine powder form at the bottom of the solution. It happened to me when i first used Ap also. Just filter and save until you have enough powder to continue with the refining process or you can of course continue to use the solution by adding more material to strip more gold plating and not have to filter the powder out until you are ready to refine. Adding more material to strip would be the prefered option.

Good Luck

thanks for the help, i just didnt expect the whole thing to disappear.
i thought the connectors were just plated , guess i was wrong. As it is i have a handful of them so i can try more material. Thanks again.
