Hello, guys! I hope you're doing well

Since I discover that it is possible to dissolve gold and platinum with HCl and swimming pool pellet (those with trichloroisocyanuric acid or sodium dichloroisocyanurate) I wanted to know how much of these compounds I need to dissolve gold and platinum. Is there a ratio between sodium dichloroisocyanurate/trichloroisocyanuric acid and hydrochloric acid?

Thanks for reading,

TCCA would be better used to generate chlorine gas.

Most of the metals that form chlorides can be attacked by chlorine gas, although some will react much better in the gas at a high temperature...

It is hard to keep these gases in solution to be very useful if the more noble metals are much more than powders...

Aqua regia is better for less reactive metals.
