This is way off topic but I could sure use some help. My problem is I have some calcined zinc oxide that I use for my pottery glaze work. There is one type that is wonderful to work with and very fine particles smooth easy to use. I have another bag that is a different brand and it is hard lumpy and almost cemented to itself. I could ball mill this but I have a very small ball mill from Harbor Freight that does only a pound or so at a time.
Does anyone know of a way to dissolve the zinc oxide and re- precipitate the xinc oxide so that on drying it will be a soft flour instead of dry cemented lumps. I have several hundred pound of the hard stuff and hoping one of the folks here might have a reasonable and cheap answer. This material goes for about $3/lb so I'm interested is reclaiming this . Thanks for any help. Wyndham
