A massive hello to everyone here,I'm Kevin and I'm a newbie here I'd like to thank you for the warm welcome. I've been into precious metals for as far as I can remember I melt down metals to make bars as a hobby to keep my sanity intact 😂 I was struck down 8 years ago with aggressive fistulising crohn's disease and had 14 major operations so far and I've been clinically retired due to my illness buy hey I'm still here and still standing lol.ive been studying precious metals refining but when it's put into practice it's a whole different ball game. But I'm keen to learn and take heed to any advice and lessons given.so I'd like to thank you all again for the warm welcome 🙏 🤗 and I'm rearing to go!!!!and hopefully soon I can be a .more experienced refiner and soak up all the knowledge given for which I'll ne hugely grateful.

Welcome, and sorry to hear about your hardships.

Here is something to do.
The book of Ms Hoke is to get the most important chemistry into your head.
Most of the rest is to keep our self and our surroundings healthy too.

1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: Screen Readable Copy of Hoke's Book
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: Safety
3. And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum: Dealing with Waste

Suggested reading: The Library
