Hello everyone,

My name is Phil. I'm from Oklahoma. I joined this forum because I'm fascinated by this art and hope to one day say I successfully did this. My goal is to make some jewelry for my daughter by finding the gold and refining it myself through my labors. Plus I really enjoy it as a hobby so far.

Welcome to the forum. I lived in Lawton in the late 80's, where about are you located?

Cool. I'm in okc. I'm hoping to one day find someone in okc to study from. Lawton has gotten a lot bigger from what I hear. Were you born there? Okc is a big league city now with Thunder and CNG. Lol.

Okc ok then. We use to go up to a friend mom's house on the south side just off S. May Ave. just north of SW 89th. I remember being there before the twister hit and then going back about 5 yrs after and was blown away at how different it all was, no trees, cookie cutter houses and for the life of me could not find my friends mom's house. I also remember a club called The Million Dollar Club I wonder if it's still there. By the way I was born here in MI.

That's cool. Yeah it's totally different now. Expanding greatly. I actually drove through that tornado going back to Norman from OKC. I couldn't see anything and it was either keep driving or await the unknown. I luckily got to my destination safely. I've lived here for 25 years or so and I will say that I have never seen a actual funnel...yet! Wall clouds, storms, the aftermath yes, but never up close like on tv because they are always wrapped within the storm. I don't think that Million Dollar Club is around else I would have heard about it at one point in my earlier days of hitting the scene. Lol.
