Hello
I'm new, Duh. I've been recycling scrap since I was a Kid, to old to say. And Circuit boards for past few years, mainly sold them to scrap yards, been tearing them down in various ways, have all kinds of different scrap bins, Pins, CPU (all Types), Gold plated brass Wifi antenia connectors, small wifi boards, Sim cards from satellite boxes, and alot of Misc.
I wanted to start recovering the gold from the Pins and CPU, i was thinking a reverse electroplating process or chemical process would be best for me, any one able to point me to the best posts of directions for beginners?

Others will chime in that know more on the threads to read I’m sure but the first things to do is read C. M. Hokes book at least two, three times as the more you read it the more info she gives becomes apparent. I believe there’s a link to it in the guide tour or in lasersteves signature line.

Also go thru the guide tour for the forum. That will give you a very good start.

Make sure to read thru dealing with wastes. Dumping down the drain and or the ground is not an option.

As. Far as a first step with your e waste.

Pins
First separate magnets from nonmagnetic use a normal magnet not a sting magnet the slightly magnetic ones the will shake off can go with the nonmagnetic ones.
Second if the is solder you will want to either trim all solder off or use AP search for Acid Peroxide or CuCl it will show many threads with directions on that process.

CPU
Separate out by type BGA, epoxy, ceramic, Ect, they all have slightly different processes.
