Hey everyone,

As you can see from my profile name, my name is Brian. I've been doing silver recovery for a while. I only do silver. My day job is a Machinist, but do a lot of silver recovery at night. I consider silver recovery a hobby for me, but one that pays me back.

A few years ago I stopped by a buddy's house and he was desolving silver in an acid and then did a few small pours, I was hooked right then. I got in with a company, buying their scrap. It's been a part time job for a couple years now.

I'm pretty small time, but this is two weeks worth of pours. Volume goes up and down.... Been way up lately....

It's all a silver/carbon/tungsten mix..... I don't get the melt hot enough to melt the tungsten, so can usually get that stuff out in two pours. I'm luck, the rest is .99 silver..... I've sent many batches out like the one shown, and always get paid on .99

So no acid or anything like that, I'm pretty lucky. I have to buy all their scrap and I have to prove that it's been destroyed. It's from a small company, from one machine they have. The only reason I even got the deal, was because the DOT was requiring them to put the stuff into some kind of DOT approved bucket, so they would of had to cut it down to size and buy the buckets. So I show up in my truck and take it away, I have to pay for it..lol basically it was to much of a pain for them to send it out.
