On a dumpster dive one night we came across a cell phone company that had thrown away a bunch of Sim Cards. I also have collected the gold ends or what I assume to be gold ends off of printers and would like to sell them. How would I go about this matter. Any suggestions welcome.

Post some photos here. We will help determine the value (if any).
You can register at the Precious Metals Marketplace (www.ThePMMarketplace.com) and sell your items there (its free).

There are about 1200 sim cards to a lb, and about a gram of gold, or at least that was my average yield on 10 lbs of sim cards. I ran 10 lots of 1 lbs each then averaged the results and 1g is about spot on. I have not run the printer tabs yet (I assume you are talking about the three gold terminal leads that is attached to the printer cartridge head?) so I am not sure what the yield is. If I had to guess though, I would say it's probably half as much as the sim cards.

Unless someone is buying small lots and adding them to what they are collecting, 1 lb of sim cards might not cover the shipping costs and chemicals used to process them. The more product, the more profit margin, depending on how you are processing them. I processed my 10 lots to get an average so I know how to buy them in the future, but for profit reasons I should have run them all at once, or at least using the same solution.

If you have several lbs of the material you are talking about, I would be interested in buying it from you, at a fair price so that we both can make a little money from the transaction. The problem I always seem to run into is what I call urban gold fever. People see gold, and that's all they end up seeing, then prices get crazy, perceived value, etc. So before you sell anything to anyone, including me, you might want to try and find out what the PM values are, then half that amount because people usually don't pay over 50% spot. Then offer your items up for sale at a fair price, someone will buy them.
