I did some melting with torch and supposedly came up with copper and either bronze or most likely brass...

Put the torch away, put the metals you have melted away, go to the thread in my signature and download that book and read it from front to back

Honestly I didn't even want a step by step process when I first came here because to me I want to learn the why first. And that's what so great about this site. So many great threads on the actual chemistry going on and why. I like how we rarely give step by step instructions. I think it keeps this forum way more interesting and productive.
